  • Pharmacists with previous clinical experience can take the exam to meet the requirements for credentialing.
  • Resident Fee (Letter requested from Preceptor)
  • Pharmacists who have previously taken training and need to update their training and experience.

Objectives:  After attending each of the practice-based sessions, the pharmacist should be able to:

1)  Gather, document and assess patient information.

2)  Demonstrate proper and appropriate physical assessment techniques.

3)  Use these techniques to monitor a patient’s response to drug therapy and the presence of adverse effects.

4)  Document findings and plan recommendations for specific patients.

Required Text: Bickley L. Bates' Guide to Physical Examination and History Taking, 12th ed., Philadelphia: J.B. Lippincott, 2012.

Required Equipment: Stethoscope and blood pressure cuff

Statement of Credit:  ACPE continuing education credit will be entered into the CPE Monitor System within 60 days based upon completion of the program evaluation, Patient History write-up, and Oral Structured Clinical Examinations.

The New Mexico Pharmacists Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  The ACPE Universal Activity Number for this practice-based training has been assigned for the 60 contact hrs./6.0 CEUs offering is #0104-9999-17-036-B04-P.  NMPhA will input the CPE credits into the CPE Monitor Database within 60 days based on the information provided on evaluation form.
